Salvation: Embarking on a Journey with Christ
Welcome to the family of faith.
Regardless of your past or present, the love of Jesus Christ
encompasses all, offering each of us an everlasting bond with Him.
This bond transforms lives and reshapes destinies. Here at Joshua
Ministries, we rejoice with you as you consider taking the most
significant step of your life—beginning a new chapter with Jesus.
Your next steps would include setting aside time each and every day
to pray and to read your Bible. We love the New King James Version.
The more time you spend in prayer and reading the Bible on a
consistent daily basis, the faster you can enjoy healing and
restoration in your soul. Find a solid Bible-believing church in
your area.
We stand ready to encourage you as you grow in your newfound faith.
Welcome to the family!
Recognize Your Need for Jesus
First and foremost, understand that we are all imperfect. Sin,
simply put, is our failure to meet God’s standard of righteousness.
It’s not just about wrong actions; it's a condition that affects
every one of us. No human effort or good deed reaches the divine
benchmark set in the scriptures. We all fall short, missing the mark
of God's glory as stated in Romans 3:23. This sin issue creates a
gulf between us and the Lord, one that we cannot bridge on our own.
Acknowledge Christ’s Sacrifice
The remedy to our plight is found in the life and sacrifice of Jesus
Christ. Embrace the truth that He bore the ultimate sacrifice on the
cross for your redemption. Romans 5:8 proclaims the profound depth
of God's love, saying, “While we were still sinners, Christ died for
us.” This sacrifice wasn’t just a historic event; it was a personal
act of grace for you, for your peace, and for your eternal destiny.
Turn From Sin
With the recognition of Jesus’ sacrifice comes the call to
repentance. This means to turn away from sin and to set your heart
and mind on God. It’s a decisive change in direction, a heartfelt
response to the love demonstrated on the cross. Acts 3:19 compels
us, “Repent...turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out,”
opening the door to a life restored and renewed in Him.
Accept Jesus as Your Savior
Choosing to follow Jesus is more than a mental assent; it's
embracing Him as Lord and Savior of your life. Acts 4:12 reminds us
there is salvation in no one else. In John 14:6, Jesus declares, “I
am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father
except through me.” By accepting Him, you’re not simply believing in
a historical figure, but inviting the living Christ to dwell in your
heart and guide your life.
Finally, take a moment to talk with God through prayer. This doesn’t
require eloquent words but a sincere heart. As Romans 10:9 assures
us, “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in
your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” If
you feel ready to make this commitment, you might pray something
like this:
Dear Jesus,
I realize I am a sinner in need of Your grace. I believe You died on
the cross for my sins and rose again, offering me new life. I choose
to turn from my sinful past and walk towards You with all my heart.
I accept You as my Lord and Savior, and I thank You for the gift of
salvation. Come into my life, Jesus, and make me whole. Amen.
If you’ve prayed this prayer, we at Joshua Ministries celebrate with
you, for today marks the beginning of your eternal journey with
Christ. Your slate is wiped clean, and your future is secured in
Him.
